Math for Allied Health

Another problem.

I'm looking for dosage on an order of 250mg of a medicine concentration with 200mg.  The bottle states 2mL=200mg. But the bottle also states 20mL multidose container... I'm lost.

Re: Math for Allied Health

Hi HZ;

If you want to deliver a 250 mg dosage of something and 2ml = 200 mg. then 2.5 ml will yield a 250 mg dosage.

I am not following you here. The dosage is in mg. Can you explain in your own words what you are trying to do?

Re: Math for Allied Health

I thought I need to have my answer in units. So 2.5 mL would be 25000units, right? I think thats how my prof wants to see it. In units, not mg.
Does that make sense? Sorry... this is all really new to me

Re: Math for Allied Health

Units are not a standard measure if I remember correctly. What is the conversion factor, do you know?

Are we talking about an IU or a USP unit. An IU or international unit is typically 1 IU = 1 mg.

You are training to be a nurse or medical assistant are you not?
