Great Maths Resource

I found this great video online that explains 'Why Learn Algebra?'

Hi samsamsam;

Welcome to the forum. That is very inspiring except for one thing. If kids are still asking the same questions that kids in my era did ( 4000 BC ) it is obviously not working.

And besides do we really want to pump up our brain? Is a fat brain better?

I was recently at the Rockefeller Institute where that very question came up. It was decided by more than 2 to 1 that a low fat brain was the way to go.

When we make a microchip we make it as small as possible. Why? Well this way the electrons do not have to go very far. That means higher speeds, better performance. Same principle with the human brain. Shrink it down to the size of a marble and then watch that baby perform.


In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.
