HELP! fraction~

Without actually multiplying, can you tell which of the following two is greater? Explain your reasoning.
26 5/7 × 9    or 26 × 9 5/7wave

Hi LALALA;

Expand them out.

Subtract 9(26) from both sides.

Now can you see that 26 ( 5 / 7 ) is greater than 9 ( 5 / 7 )? So the second fraction is bigger.
