hi bobbym

found out that it should be equal to 1/e.

Re: Limits!

Hi all!

Hi bobbym,

In post #48, were you talking about question 6?

Hi anonimnystefy,

That's correct, very good! Hide your answer!

Re: Limits!

Hi gAr;

Yes, they are doing a strange thing on some of those. Bringing the limit not only through the tangents which is sometimes okay. They are bringing it up to the exponent.

Re: Limits!

Hi bobbym,

I use some "standard" results.
It's useful if someone doesn't know differentiation.

We can apply these if we can reduce to these forms.
But I did not understand what you actually meant!

What would be your approach?

Re: Limits!

Hi;

I noticed maple in their student package solving like this:

Apply power rule.

L'Hospitals rule.

Now what is that?

Thanks for your solution.

Hi bobbym,

Did it mean to say answer is 1?!

I guess?! I do not get why he brings the limit operator into the exponent!

Does it on every one I tried with an exponent. Freaky bad move!

Hi bobbym,

Yes, it's funny indeed.
Have you checked the other versions of maple?

Re: Limits!

Hi;

As far as I know it occurs in 12,13 and 14. It is not part of the main package but it is part of student package.

Hi bobbym,

Are the main packages doing fine?

Re: Limits!

Yes, it is a good package. On some other forums they knock CAS. They are quick to point out when they make a mistake and forget the 1000 times they are right. That type of reasoning is bad.

Hi bobbym,

Yes, people never remember good things and never forget bad things!
Anyway, such an obvious mistake is hard to digest.
Could it be a problem with the installation?!

Re: Limits!

I do not think so. I just think whomever wrote that module for them has a weird understanding of limits. Let me show you another one:

This was also done by that module.
