Re: natual no.

Hi juantheron;

Question is a little dubious. The natural numbers can mean two things:

0,1,2,3,4... or 1,2,3,4...

I am going to use 1,2,3,4,5...

There are 738 such numbers

9 * 9 * 8 + 9 *9 + 9 = 738

Re: natual no.

Is 202 allowed or must the 2's be touching like 220, or also can you have just one 2 like 721?
Please tell me, juantheron?

bobby, I don't understand your multiplying and adding.

Re: natual no.

juantheron, can you list 5 numbers please that are allowed?
And list 2 numbers that are not allowed to help clarify (understand) (comprend) better?

bobby, I don't understand your multiplying and adding.

The 9*9*8 is for all the 3 digit numbers, the 9*9 is for all the 2 digit numbers and the 9 is for all the 1 digit numbers.

Hi juantheron;

Wasn't post#2 the correct answer?

Re: natual no.

Is the question also the same as:
JEFAA.) How many whole numbers from 1 to 999 have digits (chiffre) that are distinct and all different within each number?

JEFAB.) Such as 123 or 456 or 789 or 901 or 978 would be acceptable.
JEFAC.) However would these numbers be bad? 101, 88, 122, 505
JEFAD.) Also the numbers from 1 to 9 are all acceptable I presume?
JEFAE.)  You can refer to these statements by codes such as this last one is JEFAE. smile
JEFAF.)  Or preferably, you can quote portions.
