Being perfect makes you somebody
So you are not nobody anymore

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
I have the result, but I do not yet know how to get it.
All physicists, and a good many quite respectable mathematicians are contemptuous about proof.

Re: Syllogism

"Synthesis" is "syllogism".
"Syllogism" is "deduction".
Therefore the process of producing a chemical compound is called "deduction".

My eyes talk,
my heart sings:
...I'm so a crazy mixed-up kid.

My hands speak,
my fingers do the walking:
...I'm totally a crazy mixed-up kid.

Re: Syllogism

The sentence below is true.
The sentence above is false.
Therefore, the last two sentences are a paradox.

Now that we have posted enough of these, anyone wanna find out what's wrong with them.

Re: Syllogism

Hi bob

I noticed those myself. But take, for example, bobbym's syllogism about proteins.

Re: Syllogism

Well firstly we could question whether 'mostly protein' and 'protein' are logically equivalent or even {mostly protein}, {protein} is one of these sets a subset of the other.

Alternatively, question whether the word 'good' is sufficiently well defined to allow it to be used as it it is the same in all the statements.

Re: Syllogism

Hi bob

What if we look at the conclusion as if it says that if we are bobbym (which we would never do) it would be good for us.

Re: Syllogism

hi Stefy,

Let's define the terms properly.

good:  Makes you healthy and strong when you eat it.

Thus, protein is good for you. => protein is good for you because it makes you healthy and strong.

bobbym is mostly protein.

=>  we must eat bobbym !!!

We have reached a conclusion on this one?
