Why division starts from left?
Normally in addition, subtraction and multiplication operations, we are considering the digits from right to left. But in division operation why we are considering the digits from left to right?

Hi;
One reason why it starts from the left is because of some fraction rules.
We are starting from the left with116 into 300 and then 116 into 20 and finally 116 into 5.

Hi;
In other words you can break up the numerator into a sum and put each part over the denominator.
Hope you saw that in the other post we could have started from the right to left almost as easily. Keeping tabs on where the decimal points go seems easier from left to right. Or maybe there is something more convincing.
