Any good website for revising Yr8 SAT Exams?

Does anyone know a good UK website for revising Year 8 SAT Exams (end of year)?

Year 8 SATs? Are you sure they are SATs, I thought they were scrapped? When I was in Year 9 my year group supposedly did the last batch of them...

Re: Any good website for revising Yr8 SAT Exams?

hi Matthewmaths

Welcome to the forum!

I suggest a two stage plan.

Step 1.  Give the child a past paper to try.  This will enable you to identify weaknesses.

You can download them for free from, for example,

http://www.emaths.co.uk/KS3SAT.htm#Mathematics

Papers are available by level not by age, so do not be put off by this site saying KS3.

Step 2.  Go to an excellent resource for learning maths by topic at

http://www.mathsisfun.com/

If you don't find what you want there (highly unlikely) then post here at the forum in the Help section.

To clear up zetsfunc's comment.  He is right that the SATs are no longer compulsory but many schools continue to use them as end of year exams because they test the National Curriculum and provide pupils, teachers and parents with evidence of progress etc.  Papers continue to be written for this purpose.
