Draw  graph (1) y greater than equal to x
                   (2) y greater than less than x

Did my previous post with the |x| graph help?

With > and < graphs, you will end up shading a whole region.

So find the boundary (boundaries) first

That means replacing the > sign with an equals.

So mark the line y = x.

Then decide which side of the line will make y > x

If you are unsure,  choose any point that is not on the line, say (5,3)

Is y > x for this point?  ie is 3 > 5.  No it isn't.  So this point isn't in the region.  I need y to be bigger.

So try (5,7).  Is y > x now? Yes it is. 7 > 5.  So this point is in the region.

Shade that side of the line.

If the boundary is to be included as well, make the boundary line solid.

If the boundary is not to be included, use a dotted line.
