Hmmmm.

**You have 4 boxes. You can toss balls one at a time to the boxes until any one of them has 3 balls in it, and then you stop.The tosses are independent, and each bin is equally likely to be hit. It's impossible to not make it in a bin on any given toss.What is the expected number of tosses so that 1 bin has 3 balls in it?**

Btw, I am looking at a paper that uses the notation I{X<=3} and then uses a property from which they deduce that E I{X<=3}=P{X<=3}. Do you have an idea what the I represents?
