Hi;

**In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.**

**I agree with you regarding the satisfaction and importance of actually computing some numbers. I can't tell you how often I see time and money wasted because someone didn't bother to run the numbers.**

Hi julianthemath;

I think you mean for 5

5=11

6=625

Muxdemux, sorry about that.

Bobbym, I don't mean that!

Muxdemux, I think that is not correct in 6.

Anyways,

7. log3(___)=5

8. log6(64)=__

Hi julianthemath;

Okay, scientia. I might not do this well. Ask bobbym to close the thread.

I will keep it open a bit longer in case you change your mind.

julianthemath, Have you see the fact that

logy logx

x = y which is still true for any positive base b (not 1) and positive x and y?

One might get some interesting variations on these log problems using this fact.

Writing "pretty" math (two dimensional) is easier to read and grasp than LaTex (one dimensional).

LaTex is like painting on many strips of paper and then stacking them to see what picture they make.
