Re: Mercury

Basically just a big rock in space. Good page!

In mathematics, you don't understand things. You just get used to them.
If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
Always satisfy the Prime Directive of getting the right answer above all else.

Re: Mercury

Interesting to think about living there. If you were well insulated (say underground) the high and low temps would average out to around 130 degrees. With some solar collectors and heat pumps you could make it quite bearable.

Re: Mercury

You know they sometimes mention a place in the Sahara as achieving a higher temperature than Death Valley.

Believe me 130 is not livable. It was 110 here and it is hot!

Re: Mercury

There aren't any ice cubes here. I was walking home from shopping and sat down to rest and drink something. I heard a little tweaking sound coming closer. I leaned over to see a scorpion approaching. He was wobbling badly from dehydration. He was begging for water and went belly up right in front of me. Short but pointless anecdote about the heat.

Re: Mercury

Hi MIF

A person on Mercury wouldn't have less mass. They would simply have less weight, which is measured in Newtons (new tons? smile).
