Hello hi2

Welcome to the forum!

What is cool? LaTeX? I agree. It is a very powerful tool for helping someone understand mathematics.

Do you know how to use LaTeX?

3 things.....

1:

O_O is it just me, or is it when you copy LaTeX into a Microsoft Word "blank equation", it turns into fancy math automatically?

2: THIS IS SO LUMPING FUN!!!!!

3. IM GETTING AN ACCOUNT HERE SOON!

..... also.....when you put certain opeations into Word, like a n-ary sum, it keeps the "{" & "}" ......I don't know why......but still its creepy how it turns into math when you copy it..........

∞ exists as the limit of x/0, where x can be any value that exists. Unfortunately, x/0 doesn't exist in nature, so ∞ doesn't either. That's why its always so elusive and mystifying. Personally? I believe it was 0's brother that never was born into the universe of commonly used math.

Did you know you can make new symbols from the existing ones?

I did. I've seen it used for defining "hbar".

Hi anonimnystefy,

That's good to know.
Do you use LaTeX instead of word processors?

Hi Nehushtan,

That's funny!

For math purposes yes.

Okay.
Even with no math, it produces superior layout compared to word processors. It has mighty capability with graphics as well.

### Re: LaTeX - A Crash Course

That is true, but I rarely, if ever, need to type non-math documents.

How do you write something in LaTeX in a post without having to start a new line? Example:

I'd like to write

on one line, but I don't know how.

Does entering an empty math tag somewhere before help?

Yes, that seems to do the trick, thanks -- as long as I put the empty math tags on the same line.

No problem! That's the only workaround I'd ever found.
