I don't know why my spell checker says that favourite is incorrect. Maybe American English spell check?

By the way, favourite is British English. smile

There are many similar cases. I think the most well known is colo(u)r. There is also flavo(u)r of those I can remember.

Aubergine and Eggplant. In India and South Africa, we say Brinjal.

Encyclopaedia and Encyclopedia.

Inverted Comma and Quotation Mark.

Practise(verb) and Practice(verb). Practice(noun) and Practice(noun).

Cauldron and Caldron.

Puma and Cougar. Also Mountain Lion, Cheetah(in India), Panther.
British English(left) and American English(right)
