solve the equation

if i have the ellipse x²/16 +y²/9 = 1

If x = 1.8 how do i fin y
could you please show your steps

Solve for y first;

1 = x²/16 + y²/9;

9(1 - x²/16) = y²;

y = √(9(1 - x²/16);

y = (3/4)√(16 - x²);

if x = 1.8;

y = .75(±√12.76);

y ≈  ±2.68


I am at an age where I have forgotten more than I remember, but I still pretend to know it all.
