Yea, the breakdown into three disjoint boards is what I was unable to do right. Have not looked fully at their work but apparently you did.

Did not read all the papers yet, but understood how to apply the rook polynomials to the problem.

Understood the formula using the Laguerre polynomials ( always wondered what they were for ) but I do not see how it all applies to your problem?!

Used imagemagick's convert utility.
E.g. to resize to 80x80 image which is the maximum allowed:

convert -resize 80x80 2361.png 2361r.png
