Re: Polynomials

hi;

This can help: x^3 - y^3 = (x-y)(x^2+xy+y^2)

Re: Polynomials

Sorry, Agnishom, but I don't understand the help you gave me.

I can see that both sides = 1 and how you obtained the lhs of the equation, but the rhs and how it = the lhs has me beat.

Bed now...

Ah...thanks, Bobby. Nice trick! I can get

from there.

Hi Agnishom,

I see now what it was you were trying to tell me. up I was just too thick to see it.

Re: Polynomials

I believe (though that's possibly groundless) it's a dinky di snap of a flourishing little farmlet within cooee of the Bullamakanka University, just this side of beyond the black stump.

Re: Polynomials

I would have liked to have studied there, but having passed two subjects in 4th-year high I unfortunately was overqualified.

I considered resitting that year and flunking all subjects this time, but the two I'd passed would forever be black marks against my name and would count me out from enrolment eligibility. sad

It is a shame. Sounds like a nice place to have studied at.

Hey wait,

I am starting to think something is wrong.

This kind of grammar is a consequence of using Mathematica. you are forming lambda functions inside your speech!

Re: Polynomials

"Don't believe everything you read on the internet" is all I can say about that, Bobby.

Btw, once when I was passing (as in 'passing') the Ettamogah Pub in Ettamogah (which is on the Wagga Wagga side of Albury, New South Wales), I saw someone wearing a T-shirt with 'Bungowannah University' emblazoned across the front, and I now wonder if that's a 'sister' uni of the one in Bullamakanka!

Bungowannah is, as any local would point out, in the direction of the Goombargana Cemetary Road as you leave Albury via Nail Can Hill, but if you find yourself on the Howlong Road then you haven't been taking notice of how long (sic) you've been driving, and you've overshot Bungowannah. And then you'd certainly have missed the Bungowannah University, which is very easily missed.

Re: Polynomials

Okay, it looks like a very pleasant place. Ettamoogah Pub, I was just dreaming about it.

There are no consequences, that means post number 8.
