Get the area:

The brown circle is inscribed in the quadrilateral. There are 4 distinct green areas. Can you get the one on the farthest left?

Re: Get the area:

I'll do it analytically if you want, but it's a lot of algebra, so I need an incentive.  ie.  I'll do it if you really really want, a zig a zig har!  smile

Re: Get the area:

What is a zig a zig har! ?

Well, to do it analytically, you need to use some integration, which is more or less okay except that finding the radius of the circle will be a pain.

No integration required.

Re: Get the area:

Is 'oi' on youtube your account?

I do not know the sector angle.

Re: Get the area:

I don't know who 'oi' is.  Suspect someone who cannot be bothered to make up a long avatar name.

Once you know all the sides you can get the angle by trig.

Re: Get the area:

Isn't it spice girls instead of space girls and zig-a-zig-ah instead of zig-a-zig-har?

Re: Get the area:

Do you realise that I've now had to actually listen just to check.  Anyway, here is what my researches have revealed:

(1)  It should be Spice not Space.  I suspect that oi had trouble spelling as well as not being bothered to make up a sensible name.

(2) The music is definitely the Spice Girls track and not a cover version.

(3)  There is a girl band called the Space Girls but there are only four of them and that's not a picture of them.  I'm also fairly sure they never did that track.  They are not a tribute act.

(4)  There are also Star Trek connections to 'Space Girls'; and a computer game aimed at young girls; and some fashion items; and some stuff that I cannot describe here.

(5)  I agree it is 'ah' not 'har' but at my age my hearing is not as good as it once was.

(6)  You are very skilled at steering the subject away from the maths.  I bet you do it in class too.  Have you actually tried this question now?

I have and I do not do it in Class because I understand whatever goes on there. Here, I do not.

Re: Get the area:

I would still have to say that phrontister got the full answer first. But I do accept your answer too. Very good!

You do not understand because you do not answer questions in other threads. I can only assume you do not see them.
