hi! how do u calculate xbar as in:

so if X is 1, what would xbar be?

  can represent a number of things.  Which do you mean?  I might guess at "mean value" which means the arithmetic average of a set of numbers.  In particular, if by "X= 1"  you mean the mean value of the "singleton set" {1}, then the obvious answer is "1"!

Alright I will be blatant and quick

So, -
     X means the "mean" either of a data distribution or set, and 'mean' means "average"

You can use the mean for finding the "Variance" of Standard deviation in statistics.... Hope this helped!
