In an equilateral triangle ABC,D is a point on the side BC such that BD =1/3BC then 9AD^2 =?

hi Geeky,
To avoid fractions let's say AB = BC = CA = 3a
Then DC = 2a
Now you can use the cosine rule on triangle ADC
