0.9... = 1; Is it gone?

Before proceeding, I wanted to know if there were going to be NO more topics on this or if the idea was to only keep one up.  Because I know the biggest one (http://www.mathisfunforum.com/viewtopic.php?id=658) was taken down, and I'd like to at the very least know why if not argue about putting it back up.  I briefly mentioned it already in another post, but didn't want to take the other one too off topic so decided to make a new post and see if I can bring up a discussion here.  At the very least, if it's not negotiable, then at least find out why.

Re: 0.9... = 1; Is it gone?

There were many arguments that resulted in bannings. That is the reason for the closing. I think 10 threads on the same topic was and is redundant, I still do. If you have some new material on this subject there is a thread open for it.

Okay, so there is a new topic open for it?  Was that the one I was talking in?

Re: 0.9... = 1; Is it gone?

This thread is for suggestions and comments not really for math. Please use the other thread for comments about that.

Most of the threads were created by the same troll using different usernames.

It was universally agreed that this fellows opinion was the correct one:

Re: 0.9... = 1; Is it gone?

Sorry, unless I misunderstand something, I am trying to make a suggestion to bring it back (and I'm not trying to bring math into this, sorry if I give that idea).  Now the reason I bring this up is this is actually a topic I care about, and I personally don't see it as resolved myself.  I've never talked to the troll myself (that I'm aware of), but this is a very controversial subject and I know at least myself would be interested to hear new people speak on this still.

[edit]  I e-mailed this question instead so I removed it from the post.

We have a thread open for this discussion, what do you want brought back specifically.

Re: 0.9... = 1; Is it gone?

Okay, is that http://www.mathisfunforum.com/viewtopic.php?id=20534? Or is that a different one?  I was suggesting bringing back the big one to have a big one available, but I guess it doesn't matter if there is still one open.

Re: 0.9... = 1; Is it gone?

I think the big one was closed because the OP was banned as was the case with most of these.
