help me pleasee.....poison distribution

Aeroplanes arrive at airport at the average rate of 10 per hour. Air traffic controllers can safely handle a maximum of 15 planes per hour. Assume that the planes arrive randomly and independently and letP(x=j)=Aj=e^-10 (10)^j / j!... What is the probability that airport safely is jeopardized?

You need to calculate P(0), P(1) .... P(15) using the formula and add these up.  That's the probability of safety, so then do (1 minus that value) to get the probability of jeopardy.

Using the Poisson distribution with mean = 10 you should get a probability of about 0.04874
