Howdy

Just found this site.  Looks interesting, so I signed up.  Typing on my phone so it's slow going with these tiny buttons.  I'm a retired guy, 66 years "young"who always enjoyed math, especially the wonders of geometry.  Not very good at much, but I still like to ponder things.  Retired from the South Carolina State Museum after 30 years last year.  I am also a musician and active amateur astronomer.

I ran across the topic of "Does 0.999... = 1?" online (which is how I discovered this site).  I'd like to know where I can read some discussion about that on here.  Anyone know where to find it?

Uh...I see, after a little searching that the topic has caused a bit of a stir...so...let me divert upon another path to begin my happy journey here.  Had no idea.

Welcome to the forum!

I don't know much about what happened with those threads, although my understanding is that it was the misbehaviour of one persistent individual that caused the stir.

I see.  The problem still interests me, but I wouldn't want to revive any past tremors.
