If it isn't broken, fix until it is broken.

'And fun? If maths is fun, then getting a tooth extraction is fun. A viral infection is fun. Rabies shots are fun.'

'God exists because Mathematics is consistent, and the devil exists because we cannot prove it'

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

You have lost something in translation.

Oh sorry.

I asked PiHan on the metaproblem problem. He asked me to look at Rudin and not do any of it.

Who is PiHan? Are we back to Rudin? The first step I would think to becoming what you want is to abandon what people like Rudin have to say on just about everything.

I would tend to agree. In the box thinkers are ruining everything. Soon, you will only have to answer for yourself, is she right?

But this thread is about the metaproblem problem

That is what we are talking about. You wish to be creative on demand, you want to ask interesting questions...

Yes, and interesting questions are not necessarily difficult questions

I disagree, how can an easy one be interesting?

Sorry for the double posting.

When I am wrong, I say it. I was not very familiar with Walter B. Rudin's work, I just thought I was. I am not a fan of analysis, in the way it is taught. I assumed it was all his fault since he wrote the modern textbooks. Someone gave me a video of his to watch and now I can immediately disagree with your professor. Walter and I agree on at least one point.

Today's math types are not interested in the history of mathematics.

They understand nothing of how it all came about and therefore understand less than nothing of where it is all going. I do not think there were any mathematicians in that audience who knew that the name of Joseph Fourier was going to pop up in that story of elastic springs... A bumpkin knew and they did not... Does not anyone find that disturbing?

I think everybody has hard of Joseph Fourier. I do not read Rudin because it lacks motivation for the reader.

We are trying to post problems for general public on the internet. Of course there are some hard problems for the Level 5 guys

Heard of him, maybe they know the name but they do not know the story.

According to Rudin, or perhaps I can not understand him there is a direct chain between

(Bernoulli, Euler, D' Alembert, Lagrange) -> Joseph Fourier -> Dirichlet -> Bernhard Riemann -> Georg Cantor

This is kind of distressing to me...

And to anticipate your next question...

But I am digressing, the thread is not about Rudin, Einstein or Fourier.

The problems you post in exercises are pretty good. How do you find inspiration to frame those problems?

You do not find your calling, it finds you.

When the master is ready, the student will appear.

You do not find inspiration, it finds you. If you stay in the box, if you live your life there, it can not find you. I have mentioned the supposed delta wave. Your people thousands of years before those psyche guys were born knew of one of the best. Ole Isaac, used it plenty. And those people were heavily influenced and might be the descendants of those that lived before them.

You have noticed I have stopped posting those problems.

Why did you do that? I do not think you ran out of delta waves.

I have no desire to become famous or popular at Brilliant. It was a mistake happening here. I wish to solve the problems when I can in obscurity, attracting no attention.

Conversely, the problems are designed to confuse and confound the math types that are very common there. They will not like that, they will complain and arguments will start and I will be right back in the center of things.

Brilliant is where I go when I wish to test out new EM ideas.

I do wish to help people but I have learned that most people do not want to be helped. They just want to be left alone.

You recently asked me where the hard problems on Brilliant are. I sent you some links. What do you think?

What did you think of my sum answer in reply to your question?
