It appears to be working for fbox but only for text.

Re: LaTeX - A Crash Course

I have learnt by experience. Earlier I used to submit immediately after writing. I had ignored "preview". the result was when came to edit the spacing etc were not visible. Once I started preview. I could edit easily.

Re: LaTeX - A Crash Course

How to write a degree symbol in LaTeX without copying the symbol in this forum's banner or making o, O, 0, or \circ as an exponent?

Re: LaTeX - A Crash Course

I use the ^ {\circ} There is a \degree command in the gensymb package but it is not used here.

Are LaTeX codes not uniform?

Re: LaTeX - A Crash Course

You mean they are different? Sometimes, they write additional packages to add commands but like all languages it is basically the same everywhere.

http://www.codecogs.com/latex/eqneditor.php

uses the ^{\circ} command

Re: LaTeX - A Crash Course

You can produce

by writing

and you can produce

by writing

and if you want to produce

then write

There are ways to produce number lines or similar pretty pictures in LaTeX, but they are quite complicated.
