Re: whats been happening at mathsisfun while i was away?

i think one of the most noticable things, was this guy that was asking about reimmen thoery or something, who claimed to have a computer algorithm to solve ANY theory in ANY field of mathematics by inputting some data, and that it didnt matter if he didnt understand the theory, or mathematics involved in the theory, he was also arguing, quite amusibly, that '=' can be written in terms of electronic logic gates, while using an if..else. programming structure, using the '=' operator itself touched

to do with the site itself, a personal messaging system is currently being set up

I made a funny thing to calculate an average called The Mean Machine

And you can now test you coin skills with Money Master

basicly, he thought he had made a computer program, that would indeffinately, without question prove anything in maths, in any fields of maths

Yeah Luca, the Riemann Hypothesis thread sticks in my mind right now. We need more controversy like that, as well as thought-stimulating topics. I hope that the proposed advanced level section gets created someday, I'm sure people would bring up great topics there.

NO! It must be Euler related. Anything else is mathematically unacceptable. Angry_1336.gif

if that could go on a tiny mini calculator i would take it to school in my math tests and use it tongue
after this quote i have no idea what u r saying soz

There are countless things you could contribute to Euler... he was so prolific that it would take an average man over 50 years just to copy down everything Euler published, given that he were copying down material for eight hours a day. What a legend.

He flooded the journals with so many papers that they were still publishing his papers after he died.
