**Basic Rounding and Estimating**

These are quite easy for starters. The problems in this thread shouldn't really be too challenging.

**1. The attendance at a Rugby International was given as 38379. Round off this number to the nearest thousand.****2. Round off 38379 to the nearest hundred.****3. Round off 38379 to the nearest ten. **

Use a calculator to work these out, then give your answers correct to the accuracy in brackets.

**4. Work out 412 ÷ 19 and give your answer to the nearest whole number.****5. Calculate 25 ÷ 4.7 to 1 decimal place ****6. Calculate 4.77 x 2.4 to 2 d.p****7. What is 4.866 squared to 3 d.p. ****8. Calculate 1399 ÷ 199.99 to 2 d.p. **

Actually I never watch Star Wars and not interested in it anyway, but I choose a Yoda card as my avatar in honor of our great friend bobbym who has passed away. May his adventurous soul rest in peace at heaven.

Perhaps he forgot to clear his calculator?

It is indeed 23.678.

Cheers!

The integral of hope is reality.

May bobbym have a wonderful time in the pearly gates of heaven.

He will be sorely missed.
