Long division on these polynomials?

(3x^2 - 2x^3) / (6x^5 - 15x^4 + 10x^3)

I'm getting an answer which doesn't make sense, can someone help please?

Re: Long division on these polynomials?

That’s because the degree of the numerator polynomial is less than that of the denominator polynomial. Maybe you want to divide the latter by the former?

Re: Long division on these polynomials?

hi mrpace,

So what answer are you getting?

Note:  x^2 is a common factor of 'top' and 'bottom' and so can be cancelled.
