More Even, Odd or Neither Functions

Determine if each function is even, odd, or neither.

1. f(x) = 2x^4 - x^2

f(-x) = 2(-x)^4 - (-x)^2

f(-x) = 2x^4 - x^2

I say even.

2. h(x) = 3x^3 + 5

h(-x) = 3(-x)^3 + 5

h(-x) = -3x^3 + 5

I say odd.

3. G(x) = sqrt{x}

G(-x) = sqrt{-x}

I say neither.

Yes, all good. You cannot find a square root in the real numbers for a minus so the decision concerning odd and even doesn't really apply.

Yes, all good. You cannot find a square root in the real numbers for a minus so the decision concerning odd and even doesn't really apply.
