Languages; What Are Yours?

What languages do you speak - or are learning to speak - just out of interest and curiosity?

Still learning, but can speak pretty well: Español and Français

Obviously my first language is English, though.

English
German
French
Spanish
Danish
Chinese
Japanese

Cool.

Re: Languages; What Are Yours?

English (obviously), a fairly good amount of Spanish and a tiny bit of French and German but don't count them because it's really only counting to 10 and useless stuff like that.

And I know how to say yes in Russian as well. smile

Re: Languages; What Are Yours?

Once you can count to 100, it gets quite easy to go further - Like 1000. Quite easy in Spanish to do that, IMO.

I can say the alphabet in Hebrew, but it doesn't help anywhere. tongue

Re: Languages; What Are Yours?

Who speaks latin? Just because someone can speak English doesn't mean they can speak Latin. They're two different things.

In all my life, this is the first time I've ever read or seen that phrase in front of me. And that time is now.

That phrase. I may have heard it once, but I always forget latin sentences and phrase whenever speaks some to me, unless I like the sound of the words, or they are fun to say.

Re: Languages; What Are Yours?

I went shopping in Peshawar once! I have also been to Rawalpindi and Lahore.

I recall going to a town near the Khyber pass called Landikotal. We travelled to the Afghan Border and I stepped over the border for a few seconds smile

All I remember of Urdu is things like pani (water), acha (ok), jeldi (quickly), and a few others.

The only Latin I know is Carpe Diem.

But that doesn't count because it's from Dead Poets Society. Has anyone seen it?
