Well, firstly you should expand the brackets:


Then, make one side equal zero and collect like terms:

Then, factorise and use the null factor law to solve for x:

So, 6x-5=0 and x+1=0, re-arrange to solve for both x values smile

That should be (6x-5), not (6x+5). I know what you meant though, that was just a typo.


Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
