solve
7^(2x + 3) = 5^(3x - 1)

so

log7^(2x + 3) = log5^3x - 1)
(2x + 3) log7 = (3x - 1) log5
(2x + 3) (0.84509804) = (3x - 1) (0.698970004)
1.69019608x + 2.53529412 = 2.096910012x - 0.698970004
-0.406713932x = -3.234264124
x = 7.952184249
or
x = 8.0

that is correct, but you should keep the numbers in log form until you get to the final step to keep it more accurate.
