For future reference, it's better to just ask questions on the forum rather than linking to them. For all we know, that link might have been a malicious virus or something. Anyway, here's your question:
Given:
a = 2
b = 3
c = 5f(x) = x*2
g(x) = x+b
h(x) = (f(x)+g(x))
i(x,y) = x - y
j(x,y,z) = x + a * f(y-c) +g(z)
k(x,y,z) = i(y,z) + g(f(x))Find:
a) f(5)
b) g(3)
c) h(7)
d) f(5) - g(3)
e) f(g(4))
f) i(5,3)
g) j(b,7,1)
h) k(3,a,f(c))
This is just using the definitions of each function and the value of a, b and c to work out what each expression actually is. It may be a bit long-winded, but it's certainly not difficult.
It starts off easily enough.
f(5) = 5*2 = 10.
g(3) = 3+b = 3+3 = 6.
h(7) = f(7)+g(7) = 7*2 + 7+3 = 14+10 = 24.
And so on. The later questions are exactly the same difficulty level as this, it's just that the functions are a bit more complicated and you'll need to work a bit harder to get the answer. But all you really need here is basic arithmetic.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.
