A few math problems here

I've gotten a bit frustrated, so I found this place. Hopefully you guys can help me out.

Here's the problems, sorry if there's a bit more then you're used to....

2b(3a) =

|-2| + |6| =

(-4x)(-3) =

(2y)(-2) =

36x
____   = (<fraction)
-12

(3x + 5)9 =

They want me to translate each sentence into an equation:

Four less than the quotient of x devided by 2 is 5.

Twice the sum of a and b, deceased by three times c, equals d.

The quotient of the sum of a plus b divided by 2 is 4.

I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Re: A few math problems here

|| means get rid of the minus sign

2b(3a) =  6ab

|-2| + |6| = 8

(-4x)(-3) =  12x

(2y)(-2) = -4y

36x
____   = (<fraction)    -3x
-12

(3x + 5)9 = 27x + 45

They want me to translate each sentence into an equation:

Four less than the quotient of x devided by 2 is 5.

-4 + x/2 = 5

Twice the sum of a and b, deceased by three times c, equals d.

2(a+b) - 3c = d

The quotient of the sum of a plus b divided by 2 is 4.

(a+b)/2 = 4

Re: A few math problems here

Hello again! I've run into more math troubles, and I recently remembered this place. Pardon the long list, but I would really appreciate the help. up Sorry for the big bump, but I figured since I found my old topic I might as well post in it.

a to the 5th(sorry, couldn't find alt code for 5) • a³ =

(2a²b)(-2ab³)

2to the 4th =

Name the property of real numbers illustrated by each of the following.

mn = nm

(3r + 2) + s =3r + (2 + s)

If 3x = 15 then 15 = 3x

Evaluate each of the the following if a = 3 and b = 4.

(ab

ab²

(a - b

Write each expression in exponential form.

x • x • y • y • y

a • b • b • a • a • a

x • (-x) • y • y • y

Adding

3x + 4
x - 6
___________

2x - 1
-x + 1
___________

Subtract the lower polynomial from the upper one.

6x + 9
- 2x + 4
____________

2x²y - 5xy² + 2
- x²y + 2xy² + 2
___________________________

Simplify.

(ab

(-3x

(-x²)³

-3x(x² + 2)

(x + 2)(x + 3)

(2x - 5)(3x + 2)

(2x + 5)(x² - x - 2)

Solve.

2/3(36x] - 6) = 68

Thanks in advanced!wave

Re: A few math problems here

a^5 * a^3 = a^8 because it means a x a x a x a x a x a x a x a

(2a²b)(-2ab³) = -4 * a^3 * b^4

2to the 4th = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2 = 4 * 4 = 16
