I just made use of the principles of EM. They are as applied to this problem:
1) RIPOSTP
2) I made use of the hybrid super brain.
3) Repeated application of FindInstance, Solve and up down - right left logic.
Test:
((823 + 800) (704 - 600))/3 = 56264
And what did you think of the puzzle?
I thought it might be one that I could do, one that experimental methods could do.

Sorry, but your test has an error, giving an incorrect answer. When you get the correct answer you'll see why it makes sense "as a check".

Oops...I forgot that I was going to send the notebook file and posted the code instead. The notebook contains some extra bits (puzzle wording, solution, the "quick-'n-easy way" I referred to in post #90), but you have the main ingredients, which is probably all you really need.
