The upper bound does not prove that B is right. A solution would prove that B is partially right. Remember he said there was an easy way to get an answer and then from there he could get the smallest answer.

Then please phrase things correctly else we can not understand each other. An upper bound implies an interval where an answer lies between. Had you said a solution then we would understand each other.
