The text in that picture I posted. The one with the ugly people.

Yes, I see that. But it is not clear whether you should read the text or look at the pictures or possibly both.

Derpina? Asymptotes? Most puzzling.

Derpina is a name used in comics like that one.

Re: Small letters after tags

Why do you think she is difficult?

The faces used there are called memes, and they should be funny.

Mr potato head is obviously interested in a gruesome girl. She on the other hand begins to blather about infinity. Mr potato head is now sad.

The point is that she told him he is just a friend to her and that is all he will ever be. She just said it using math.

Re: Small letters after tags

Hmmmm. Such stereotypes are in direct conflict with modern concepts. To break away from them the author of that meme as you call it must free his mind from them. Mr potato head should be telling gargoyle girl that he just wants to be friends.

Re: Small letters after tags

The guy wants to be more than just friends. He wants her as his girlfriend.

Re: Small letters after tags

Hmmmm. It is culturally obsolete to always assume that the guy wants more but the girl wants less. Mr Meme, is caught up in this paradigm. To expand his consciousness he must rise above it. He must get in touch with his feminine side, the child within. The guy should be saying he just wants to be friends, then it would be funnier.

Re: Small letters after tags

Thank you.

Oh,I need to tell gAr that you think that he is not capable of seeing a closed form of a sum in terms of the Hurwitz Zeta function.

Re: Small letters after tags

Hmmm. gAr is from India. I had a friend from India whom I used to play chess with. Eventually we were on the same team representing our company. He was a very serious guy so I respected that and did not joke with him much. Since he was the only Indian guy I knew well when I met ganesh and gAr I used him as my template for them as well. So I rarely joke with them but here I was. I do not believe there is much of anything that gAr can not do. He is in my opinion along with Jane the best mathematician on this forum. You may tell him what I said as long as you include all the rest.

Re: Small letters after tags

Well didn't someone take it too seriously. I know that at the time you probably thought that the problem was found on a site of a mathematician wannabe.

Re: Small letters after tags

Not exactly. I am familiar with what you work on. It was not hard to figure the author of the sum. But gAr does not mind using a package. Sage could have spit that out.

Mathematician wannabee? The two people I mentioned are not mathematicians. The best numerical analyst was a chemist and not a mathematician.

It is funny.  roflol

But back to Chrome.

The browser will have a default font size qhich you can change.

Methinks your tags are resetting it, so it shows later text in a new font size.

Don't know how you control it though.

Re: Small letters after tags

I thnk that kind of comics is called Rage Comics
And the people involved are called Troll Faces
Source: http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/rage-comics
It is very nice to do a research on them

What are Asymptotes?

Re: Small letters after tags

hi Agnishom

When trying to sketch a graph, sometimes it will have asymptotes.  It means a line that the graph tends towards without reaching or crossing.

eg.  y = tanx

The vertical lines at 90 degrees and 270 are asymptotes.

eg

y = x + 1/x

When x is small the graph tends towards the y axis.  When x is large it tends towards the line y = x
