Rock of Ages
'A man suffered a serious injury because he was listening to rock-and-roll music. What happened?'
See if you can get this one.

I'd say it's probably something to do with the fact that the music stopped him from hearing something that was about to injure him, that he would have otherwise noticed and avoided.
Maybe, getting hit by a lorry or something.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

He was blind and crossing a street.
"In the real world, this would be a problem. But in mathematics, we can just define a place where this problem doesn't exist. So we'll go ahead and do that now..."

Enjoying the music so much he fell off a roof?

Mathsy, your first point is good. Ricky and Rod, your ideas fit, but they're not on the right track.

The music was being played at 140 decibels and he lost his sense of hearing

Good try, ganesh.
I'm pretty sure you already know what's in this clue, but here it is.

Another LTP (a simple one:))
Is it more correct to say
"The herd of sheep is eating hay in the field"
or
"The herd of sheep are eating hay in the field"?

Well done, MathsIsFun!
Here's another one (again a simple one!)
Two boys were born on the same day of the same month of the same year at the same time to the same parents. Yet, they were not twins. How?

What do you think of the answer?

That's exactly why I don't really like those lateral thinking puzzle books. They give you a question that could have loads of possible answers, then they print a really complicated one that they couldn't posibbly expect anyone to get.
Now that I've seen the answer, I remember that I'd actually seen that puzzle before, and the answer was so obscure that I forgot about it!

Yes, that's better, but still, why a rolling pin?!

True ... anyway, when do we get the next lateral thingy?

Now!
In my opinion, this one is even worse than the last! See what you think. I don't know why it's called Paper Tiger either.
Paper Tiger
A man writes the same number, and nothing else, on twenty sheets of paper. Why?

I have absolutely no idea. All I can think of is that his photocopier is broken or something.
Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

It is his lucky number

It would not fit onto a single sheet of paper.

Maybe he is still in school, and wrote the wrong date in the page at the start of the new year, and the teacher asked him to correct all of them. I happened to me last year, and my business teacher forced me to correct it saying that in the field of business there can not be a mixup of dates. It was tiresome I had gone about two weeks writing the wrong date.

Yes, siva.eas, you're on the right track!!
Something else you have to right the date for, though.
