I just CAN'T figure this question out!
From a lookout spot 50 m above sea level on a boat, the captain spots two ships. The angle of depression to the ship due west is 40 degrees. The other ship spotted S 70 w will be seen at an angle of depression of 34 degrees. How far apart are the two ships?
I really need help with this, I just can't figure this out.
1. (cosx - sinx)² = 1- 2sinxcosx
2. cosx^4 - sinx^4 = cosx² - sinx²
3. 1/secx + tanx = secx - tanx
