Hello Irene. Welcome to the math site. I am not in 10th grade. I can help you with high school math if you get stuck.

I've never used a forum, or actually engaged in any math-related community before, so this is very exciting!

I am in the 12th grade, and plan to take up a career that doesn't involve much math beyond some basic arithmetic and a bit of statistics as far as I'm aware.
However, I really do like maths (even if I'm not very good at it) and would love to pursue it as a hobby

Although you used the diameters instead of radiuses, I noticed you used the identity:
a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)*(a-b)
This is a clever step that usually helps to simplify the calculation.
I think you will be very good in math.
