Just a small precaution against internet nasties. A while back an attempt was made by someone to groom a young member.
She had reveiled too much about herself on social media and the guy knew her age, school, and that her father was away abroad. He tried to be-friend her here and suggested she engage in private facebook chat. We were able to warn her and delete the guy's membership.

Wow. I didnt belive stuffs like this really happen!
Numbersarehard wrote:Hello, I hope you all are doing well. My user is Numbersarehard, I'm a grade 12 math student who is currently in the trig unit. I find that the unit circle is very confusing and that the tan graph shouldn't exist (it is just too hard imo lol). I hope to find other people who are also in an advanced math such as I who may or may not be struggling with the same thing. Furthermore, I hope to meet some like-minded individuals or even some new math friends I am over the age of 18 however, just wanted to make that known just in case. Happy mathing everyone
Welcome to the math site. Here's a big tip for you: NEVER reveal your age in an open forum.
Why?
thanks

Hello Irene. Welcome to the math site. I am not in 10th grade. I can help you with high school math if you get stuck.
thanks
No, I am not Christian.
Sorry to ask, but are you American?
Nah
I've never used a forum, or actually engaged in any math-related community before, so this is very exciting!
I am in the 12th grade, and plan to take up a career that doesn't involve much math beyond some basic arithmetic and a bit of statistics as far as I'm aware.
However, I really do like maths (even if I'm not very good at it) and would love to pursue it as a hobbyIt's nice to meet y'all
Welcome
I hope you are enjoying it. Which programming language are you learning?
Sorry to ask but are you a Christian?
Yeah i am. I am learning Phyton.
Yeah. I am learning programming (using Khan academy).
:
Thanks for the information.
Hello for context, i am already like 2 weeks into my summer and i just wanna know the if highschool math is hard. Thanks

Irene wrote:Thanks again Bob. According to my workings, i got 88m. This is my workings: outside=8m, inside=6m =(8m+6m)(8m-6m) = 22/7×14m×2m=44×2=88m
Although you used the diameters instead of radiuses, I noticed you used the identity:
a^2 - b^2 = (a+b)*(a-b)
This is a clever step that usually helps to simplify the calculation.
I think you will be very good in math.Kerim
Thanks. But am still learning. Thats why there is MIF.
Okay, i will try solving it again.
Thanks again Bob. According to my workings, i got 88m. This is my workings: outside=8m, inside=6m =(8m+6m)(8m-6m) = 22/7×14m×2m=44×2=88m
Find the area of this rings. Take pi as 22/7. (a) outside diameter=8m and inside diameter=6m. Thanks (:
Okay, i will do that.
Thanks Bob.
Well, how about Algebra? I also find it hard to plot a graph. Thanks
Thanks alot Bob but almost all topics in highschool math are kinda hard.
How can i understand math?
