1. Cube: Total surface area = 486 cm squared
a) Area of one face = 81cm squared?
b) Length of one edge =
c) What is it's volume? =
2. The water tanker is able to carry a maximum of 5 tonnes up a hill. Will it be able to make it up the hill if the tanker is full of water?
(The tank is cylindrical; length 4.5m, diameter 1.4m) Have an answer already, but it looks very wrong.
3. Dump truck:
a) Volume of the tray? (Tray is rectangular shaped, with length 6m, width 2.4m, depth 1.5m) I got 21.6m cubed.
b) Total volume that can be carried if 'heaping' the truck's load adds 10% to the truck's capacity?
c) How many heaped truckloads would be needed to shift 500m cubed of gravel?
I got 23.76 for b), and 22 truckloads for c).
There's this cylinder that I have to calculate the volume of, but it's not a complete cylinder.
It has a radius of 7cm and a height of 16 cm. However, there's a chunk of the cylinder missing, and the angle of this chunk is 120 degrees. Just imagine a cylinder cut into three thirds, but one third is missing, so that the cylinder is only 240 degrees instead of 360 degrees.
I'm not sure if I'm making sense here, but I tried to calculate it and the answer I got was 2463.90 cm cubed. Now, when I look in the answers section to check my answer, it says that the right solution is 2461.76 cm cubed... What am I doing wrong?
KLMN is a quadrilateral where KNM = 84 degrees. F is a point on KL such that FN bisects KNM. FN is extended through N to G, and MN through N to H. Find the values of the angles a) HNG and b)MNG
Could anyone explain how to draw this in simple terms? It is a bit confusing. So far I have a drawn a quadrilateral with the corners marked from the top left hand side as K, all the way around clockwise to N.
