Hi,
I need to calculate youngs modulus E from the stress v strain graph.I know its stress divided by strain but were do I read the values from.Is it where the lowest stress levels of the elastic zone intersect with the corresponding strain, or the upper?
Thanks...
Can someone explain how I go about the following...
Q. a large number of bricks were found to have a MEAN compresive strength of 36.24N/mm2, with a standard deviation of 1.38 N/mm2 .
1 I need to find within what limits the compressive strength of the samples could be expected to lie.
2.the probability that a random brick would have a compressive strength less than 37.62N/mm2
3. the probability that a random brick would have a compressive stength more than 33.48N/mm2
4.the probability that a random brick would have a compressive strength between 34.86 N/mm2 and 39.00N/mm2
Thanks....Mark
Hi,
Can someone show me an example of how to plot a graph from a table of values
Thanks...Mark
[
The first one
Thanks..
Got to
p3 + q4
= 24794.911296 + 23367.708223
=48162.61952
How do I key cubrt 48162.619521 - 152.865 + cubrt -48162.619521-152.865 ito a calculator?
Thanks...
Hi,
Is iteration where you create a table of values and work it out that way?
Hi bobbym,
Yes thats what i mean.I know h = 3.14 because Ive done it on a calculator but could you show me how to get there step by step.
Thanks...Mark
Hi,
Can someone show me how to solve this cubic equation
h3 + 87.48h - 305.73 = 0
Change the figures please so I can work it out myself, just want a step by step example
Thanks Mark
Hi,
How do I solve the following two equations graphically?
2s + 10p = 1008
3s + 16p = 1596
And...
30.99 + 87.48 - 305.73 = 0
Thanks...manich44

No problem,im greateful for the help!
Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
Is that the same as h = s-pi r2/2pi r
getting confused
Can someone show me how to transpose this in terms of h
s = pi r (r + 2h)
Thanks...Mark
Hi,
Thanks for the reply,
Had a look at the mathworld page, not sure where to start though, this is my first attempt.

Hi,
I know how to find the volume of a sphere when height and radius is given but how do I go about calculating the height of a sphere cap if only the volume and radius of sphere cap are given? I know its a cubic equation but dont know how to do this.
Thanks....Mark
r = 5.4 V=160 in this instance
