Oops, sorry, didn't edit that part...

EDIT:

"Didn't rob any bank! I'm innocent! I was at work you see!", he insisted.

Well:

Even numbers are multiples of two
Two cubed is 8

so, it'll always have a factor of eight.

Sorry, got no time to elaborate.

The Nhoj Case Files # 13: The Case of The Valentine Heist

Finally, the Day of Hearts has arrived! I remember 15 years ago when a man, who we knew to be a poorly paid accountant, was accused of robbing a bank on Valentine's Day. Of course, he denied, even if his fingerprints were all over the shop.

"I didn't (EDIT)rob any bank(/EDIT)! I'm innocent! I was at work, you see!", he insisted.

"Really? Well, tell your boss that you'll be taking a leave of absence for, I dunno, 5,6 years," I told him, slapping the cuffs on his hands. People do lose their ability to lie when under stress!

What made him sure that the accountant was lying?

Oh yeah, for no particular reason, I'll give a tidbit about our first person character:

He is a guy named Rein Nhoj who particularly has no permanent job. He just sticks around the "HQ", which the chief, who is actually his uncle, manages.

The chief knows of his ability to solve logic problems quickly, and uses this to help HQ. Since Rein has no job, his entire salary is from his paycheck from Chief.

#232 Re: Help Me ! » how to figure the percentage of something » 2008-02-13 23:38:03

In this case you divide the Percentage(the amount of dollars) to the rate(the one with the percent), to get the principal(the total amount in the question). Sorry if I didn't explain it right. I'm only 13!

Anyway: 137000 / .2 (20% in decimal form) = 685000

So you have $685 000 (wow, that's a lot!)

In general:
Multiply the Principal with the Rate to get the Percentage,
Divide the Percentage by the Principal to get the Rate, and
Divide the Percentage by the Rate to get the Principal.

At least, I think it is...

Wow, I never heard that one before! However, I had a different answer in mind. Still, hehe, I'm going to find Floppy!

JRB20: One very blustery day, I happened to spot a room that had one door and one window. The Door was locked, but the window was wide open. Peering in, I saw a table beside the window, seemingly untouched. The floor was riddled with broken glass on a large puddle of water. In the puddle, I saw that Flippy was dead.

Who was Flippy, and how did he die?

'Kay, I've thought of a non-repetitive one. "Guess Away!"

Has this ever been written here? I read it from the Reader's Digest:
