can you put something like 0.02* 10 ^-55. that would be very small.
no JFF that doesn't sound right. if his browser was blocking cookies he cannot log in whatever the case.
Use the link i provided in my siggy and just post your problem there, it might be malware.

I just need a simple explanation for how horizontal asymptotes work?
and what makes slants?
Vertical asymptotes are just denominator equal to 0. to solve for x.
f(x)= (x+3)/(x-1)
V.A. x = 1
H.A. y = ?
No slant cause you cannot factor?
Identitiy you shouldn't use multiple Antivirus/firewalls they fight with each other and actually give you less protection. Just use 1 and you should be fine.
for 131 do you mean synthetic division is allowed?:)
Wow, i should have known this. I still get confused when using feet, yards, miles, acres, etc. Base of 10 makes it much more easier i guess.
1. Nail
2. Tarantula
3. would Phi work? anyways Pollen is my Connotation.
Nice trick once again, never seen that 1 before.
Took me a second to get it.![]()
for 72 Jane it is in Kilometers per hour.
It is called the vertex form not standard form.
Vertex form just gives you the vertex of the parabola
to get to vertex form you have to make the equation into a perfect square and then subtract what you added to it.
so get -1/2x^2 + 5x into a perfect square.
f(x)= -1/2x^2 + 5x -8
f(x)=-1/2(x^2-10x)-8
f(x) = -1/2 (x^2-10x+25) - 8 +12.5
f(x) = -1/2(x-5)^2 + 4.5
to make a perfect square from x^2 -10x
you take half of 10 and square it hence 25.
10/2 = 5, 5^2 = 25
to subtract what you added multiply 25 by -1/2 and change sign, so 25*-1/2 = -12.5 and then change sign to get 12.5.
I know my explanation is not clear so ask n i will try and make it clear.
standard form is in the form of highest degree to the lowest degree so the function you provided is already in standard form. goin from x^2 to x^1 to x^0.
careless25,
Thanks for poiting that out.
Careless mistakes, avoidable ones.
They were certainly not intended to be numbered randomly.
If you have come across any other such mistake, I may please be informed.I hope that this is the only one or there are only a few such mistakes!
T h a n k s a g a i n !!!
Yes i know the trick, have been tricked and will never again be tricked by that type of question!!
I was just curios about it, i thought it might have meant something to you.![]()
should be a 10sec question...with process of elimination.:D
no civil wars are any wars that are fought within a country and they continue to happen throughout history. No its not just guns and shooting, it could be throwing rocks, home-made bombs, etc.
1. Toolbox
2. Insects
3. Honey
Ganesh why does your count for questions go randomly.
for example:
http://www.mathisfunforum.com/viewtopic … 16#p101916
thats questions till 160 and them a few posts after you jump to 130s.
any reason behind this?
Yes, Wikipedia's moderation is pretty good.
There was an experiment where people added blatantly false statements to some random articles, and about 80% of them (if I remember) were removed within an hour.
I don't have citation for that though. tongue
But not good enough... i came upon this researching on dred scott.
In this article it says he dies on September 1858.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dred_Scott
^under Life, the 6th line from the last
and in this it says he dies on November 7, 1858.

so yes wiki is sometimes(very rarely) unreliable. But i will still keep using it.
163. There are as many hairs per square inch on your body as a chimpanzee. Humans are not quite the naked apes that were made out to be. We have lots of hair, but on most of us its not obvious as a majority of the hairs are too fine or light to be seen.
164. Blondes have more hair. Theyre said to have more fun, and they definitely have more hair. Hair color determines how dense the hair on your head is. The average human has 100,000 hair follicles, each of which is capable of producing 20 individual hairs during a persons lifetime. Blondes average 146,000 follicles while people with black hair tend to have about 110,000 follicles. Those with brown hair fit the average with 100,000 follicles and redheads have the least dense hair, with about 86,000 follicles.
^Yes i know its been posted before.
165. Fingernails grow nearly 4 times faster than toenails. If you notice that youre trimming your fingernails much more frequently than your toenails youre not just imagining it. The nails that get the most exposure and are used most frequently grow the fastest. On average, nails on both the toes and fingers grow about one-tenth of an inch each month.
166. The lifespan of a human hair is 3 to 7 years on average. While you quite a few hairs each day, your hairs actually have a pretty long life providing they arent subject to any trauma. Your hairs will likely get to see several different haircuts, styles, and even possibly decades before they fall out on their own.
167. You must lose over 50% of your scalp hairs before it is apparent to anyone. You lose hundreds of hairs a day but youll have to lose a lot more before you or anyone else will notice. Half of the hairs on your pretty little head will have to disappear before your impending baldness will become obvious to all those around you.
168. Human hair is virtually indestructible. Aside from its flammability, human hair decays at such a slow rate that it is practically non-disintegrative. If youve ever wondered how your how clogs up your pipes so quick consider this: hair cannot be destroyed by cold, change of climate, water, or other natural forces and it is resistant to many kinds of acids and corrosive chemicals.
Well the game is not the hardest, it has been beaten! lol
I beat it on addictinggames.com, got bored of it tho.

JFF when i started this thread the facts were meant as a joke in the first few posts but then as more ppl added random facts(non humorous[i think thats a word and thats how it should be speled]), i followed.
I agree this should be in the facts section but now there is no use as many of them might be untrue.:(
But after ganesh mentioned his source i didnt just post from a random website. I used "100 Weird Facts About The Human Body' by Christina Laun as my source.
