Challenge #3: Change RATS to STAR
I prefer (2)(3) = 6, typically reserving
and for vectors.Oh thanks, but I only have one antivirus it's called AVG, the other ones are antispyware: 'Malwarebyte's' and 'Ad-aware'. They're all free because I am too lazy too go and buy one
By the way, here's a trick if a virus prevents you from using tools on your computer such as the internet. If you create a new user account (make it administrator or you can't install antivirus programs), the virus should not affect that new account, so you will be able to use all the tools (I think). Then from that new account you can browse tech forums and download recommended antivirus, then transfer the antivirus program to your other account.
(Of couse it's better to be safe rather than sorry in the beginning, but that's what you would do if you're lazy like me)
Geeze I got a virus a while ago but with a trio of antivirus/antispyware programs I hope it's completely gone by now... hope this worm isn't lying dormant somehwere... :S
My school got banned from editing wikipedia because too many people were fooling around

Thanks a heap luca, I guess they probably typo-ed the power of ten
The formula for the volume of a cone is
If the similar tank has the same ratio of dimensions, then we know
, soTherefore,
So when V is doubled, r is multiplied by the cube root of 2.
Therefore, the new tank will have a radius of
and a height ofSorry Jane, I don't really understand how to combine kinetic energy with potential energy in an equation. Do I just sum up the energies after and subtract the sum of the energies before?
No matter what I try I can't seem to get
!Thanks Jane. The solutions have
as the answer though... do you think it is wrong? Also I tried to work this out using the difference in kinetic energy since
:But I get a different answer! Isn't
?Sorry this isn't really a math question
A shuttle orbiting the earth at 400km deploys a satellite of mass 800kg into orbit a further 200km from earth. Calculate the work that must be done by the shuttle to deploy the sattelite.
Thanks
thanks Jane I've got it now

A body of mass m is projected vertically upwards with speed u. Air resistance is equal to k times the square of the speed where k is a constant. find the maximum height reached and the speed when next at the point of projection. Thanks
Fanatstic result!
Amazing ganesh, I don't think i have ever seen you use the same picture twice
#62. What is a:b equal to if
?
A longer but geometrical (yay) proof
Let points BCE be collinear and let point A be such that triangle ABE is isosceles with AB = BE, and triangle ACE is isosceles with AC = AE. Let D be the point where the angle bisector of <CAE touches CE. AE = 1 and cos(<ABE) = pi/5
Then,
Since <AEC = 2pi/5 , then <ACE = 2pi/5, <BCA = pi - 2pi/5 = 3pi/5, <BAC = pi/5.
∴ ABC is isosceles. So BC = AC = AE = 1.
Now, <CAD = pi - pi/2 - 2pi/5 - pi/10, so sin(pi/10) = CD/AC = CD
∴ BD = BC + CD = 1 + sin(pi/10)
Since CD = CE (bisector), BE = AB = 1+2sin(pi/10),
So, from triangle ABD,
And solve for sin(pi/10)
You can then use formula to find cos(pi/10)
Wow, very nice ! Thanks luca
Find the exact value of
Is there a way to do this without drawing a triangle, what's the most efficient way? The book doesn't say which way it should be done.
Also, when finding
using triangles, you could have opp/adj = 2/-1 or opp/adj = -2/1 ... so couldn't there be 2 possible solutions?
Thankyou!
Nowhere near 10 seconds but at least I did them in my head
I would love to know the answer to 1038, but I'll let others have a go first (quick, someone answer it!)
