Did I do this right?
Is there a better way to represent the answer. She wants me to show
work.
Question:(7 + 11)(mod 5). To get full credit , show all work.
Good luck!
My answer:
(7+11)(mod5)
7+11=18 18 divided by 5=3 with a remainder of 3 so,
18=3(mod5) and (7+11)=3(mod5)
Thanks very much.
Thanks for the links , but they do not answer the question.
Is there a point beyond Hex 11 where Hex numbers turn to alphabet again?
Do the hex numbers continue in decimal-line form beyond hex 11?
That is , 12,13,14,...
The answer is yes.
I would like to learn how to convert from any base to any other base.
I already know how to convert from decimal to any base and from any base to decimal.
My question:
Can I covert between bases by using the decimal base as an intermediary step.
I mean say I have to convert from say base seven to base 5. Can I convert from base seven to base 1o, and then from base 10 to base 5 effectively?
Well yes that because the red is the answer, the other stuff was my re[presentation to the professor as to how I reasoned. Thanks again for the help. It is really appreciated.
Thanks. Ill look into that, but did I get the right answer?
Wait 12 x 25 =300
Your way 22 x 25=550 ???
If my numbers are wrong, how come i got the right answer, and so straightforwardly?
I used this link to get the answer, and then i tried working it out to match the answer:

Hehe! My professor says it's right. I do not say you are wrong, but I need more elaboration. I mean she could be wrong.
Ok I think I got it:

Oh I just discovered it's base 5. Covert 324 from base 5 to base 10. No idea how to do this. Any help appreciated.
I'll be back. Thaks. Nice guys here. Appreciated.
I believe it's base 10.
I think she wants the answer in such a way that the exponents correspond to the digits place in the original number. Hundreds, tens, ones.
Thanks.
Hmm! My instructor has not specified a base for the number 324 which she wants us to convert to base 10 for extra credit.
Please, convert 324 to base 10.
I am assuming this problem involves the following:
324=
3 multiplied by 10 to the 2nd power + 2 multiplied by 10 to the first power + 4 multiplied by 10 to the zero power=324
Sorry , but I cannot get the exponents in here from word. I hope you understand what i mean. Any help appreciated.
I am totally lost. it appears this question was the only one in my book section that i completely do not munderstand. I still o not know mif it is valid or not. I will have to regroup on this one.
You are a genius.
This one is killing me because I really do not understand the law of transitivity or how it relates to the validity of an argument. I'll be studying this in depth. I'll be back.
This one actually got me. Heheh. Thanks.
When your under stress things seem more complicated.i got it right though.Thanks.
Dangit! I suspected that, but i answered wrong. Argh! i kinda felt that the premises implied the conclusion, but i know the premises must directly support the conclusion. ahhh! Thanks my friend.
Wow! I see the logic now. Funny. Its seemed so vague just a while ago. Man it is amazing how little one can accomplish under stress. Once one relaxes things seem so much plainer.
I have to regroup tomorrow on this. I'll study transitivity and back here.
For the contrapositive of q then p :
not q then not p
i think it's just one of those typo type things in text books meant to drive the student crazy. I think they meant to write "therefore."
So are you saying that "I get robbed" and "I got robbed" are both representative of "p"?
