was bout to discover the ambiguity of the bonus qn until bobbym said it . it can be any shape right?? just have to switch direction and 0 displacement.
the horse travels in a curve so the 2 left legs travel shorter than the 2 right legs?
you cracked the whole puzzle up! explained everything in my teacher's solution! gd job. that's practically the so-called strategy
didn't specify so i guess it's allowed. but then i did it with my group, 2 min 02 sec. no piggy bag or pyramid. we're students lol not gymnasts.
what i meant was that should all 13 cross at 1 time or in groups? in reality the plank could squeeze up to 6 people.
thanks for the method of crossing. have any ideas how all 13 can cross in the shortest time? (that's the purpose actually =0 )
√-1 should be i. but if u have i²=-1, then √-1 should either be i or -i.
√2 implies the positive root unless the paper gives other wise
Here's the puzzle (sry but i don't know how to draw the diagram nicely):
There are 13 people stranded on one side of the acid river. Anyone that touches the river waters will immediately die. The river has stepping stones that are arranged something like this.
________
0
0 0
0 0
0 0
0 0
------------
Only 3 planks are available to use. These planks can support any amount of weight. But the problem is, one plank can connect to the one horizontally(beside) to the other.
eg.
0
0-----0
0----0
0-----0
0----0
And also if you connect two adjacent stepping stones , you can connect another nearest stepping stone with another plank.
eg. ________
0
0-----0
0----0
|
0-+--0
|
0--+-0
Cross from bottom to top. Not left to right
How do all 13 people get to the other side of the river with only 3 planks?
goes?
woops!i must have been tired. sorrrryy!! how did u change the color of the letters?
that's kinda hard...your newly constructed one doesn't seem to use the letter "h","k" and "w" though.
Density=Mass/Volume
Volume of cylinder=πr²h where π= pi (3.141.....), r= radius, and h= height
Hope that helps.
ClogS=K-logT
log(S^C)=log(10^K)-logT
Comparing the terms u get:
S^C=(10^K)/T
get rid of C by putting "^1/C
S^(C/C)=[(10^K)/T]^1/C
S=[(10^K)/T]^1/C
hope this helps
hmm. ok. my purpose of my 1st post was to confirm my answer for this qn....(very simple one)
3≤ x≤ 7,-5≤ y≤ 2. x and y are integers.
a) Find the greatest possible value of x² -y²
b) Find the smallest possible value of xy
c) Find the smallest possible value of
part a is where i was stumped
ok. that's great.
thanks. but in school, which statement do we follow, 0 integer or not?
but then an integer has to be positive or negative right? but then zero is neither positive or negative..
is 0 an integer?
i think i get the gist of it..'cause i haven't started on binomial theorem yet.
this LaTex language is only for this forum right?
you can't use it on other applications like microsoft word?
by the way this program is extremely useful
