how would you graph or maybe I should say how do you find more points on the y-intercept if the info you have is slope -2; y-intercept (0,4) in order to graph?
slope of any line perpendicular through points (0,5) and (-3,-4)
m= 5-(-4)/0-(-3)=9/3=3
am I doing this right
driving down a mountain. Ed finds he has descended 1800ft. in elevation by the time he is 3.25mi. horizontally away from the top of the mountain. Find the slope of his descent to the nearest hundredth.
 Is this what I am suppose to do:  y=3.25x +1800; if so I am stuck in a rut after I got that far
would like to know if I did this right: find the slope and y-intercept of the following equation:
2x- 3y =6
3y =-2x+6             y=-2/3x + 2       slope= -2/3          y-intercept =(0,2)
write equation of line with given slop and y-intercept; then graph each line using slope and y-intercept. problem slope -2; y-intercept:(0,4)
y=-2x +4 I got this far but don't know what to do next; and how to graph it
What are 3 possibilities regarding solutions to a linear system of equations?
Compar equations with 1 variable to equations with 2 variables. How are they alike? How are they different?
The revenue for a sandwich shop is directly proportional to its advertising budget. When the owner spent $2000 a month on advertising, the revenue was $120,000. If the revenue is now $180,000, how much is the owner spending on advertising?
I am not sure how to even start this???
What about something like...
y = 3/4x + 2
So -2/2=-1 add 75= 74
would that be 74 cents per unit?
thank u.
When x number of units are sold, the price of each unit (in $'s) is given by p = -x/2 + 75. Find the unit price when the following quantities are sold: 2,7,9,11
Do I divide 2/2 and then add 75 to find P?
Thank you, that had great examples shown and I think I have it!
Celsius temperature reading can be converted to Fahrenheit readings using the formula F = 9/5 C + 32.
What is the Fahrenheit temperature that corresponds to each of the following Celsius temps:
-10
0
15
100
How do I start on this? My guess is 9/5 x 0 would be 0 and then add 32 so the Celsius for 0 would be 32?
find the ordered pairs for the following:
3x = 4y = 12
(0,3)
(?, 3/4)
(4,0)
8/3, ?)
For some reason the fractions are stumping me...any easy way to work this?
I think it is this: I keep 2nd guessing myself!
RATE= 8
BASE=25
AMOUNT=% OF STUDENTS RECEIVING A'S
????
Awesome, thxs!
7x - 5 + 3x = 6+x - 10
is the solution -4?
I just have to identify which is base, rate, and amount....don't have to solve the problem and I am confused on how to determine what is what.
Dang...good catch! I too should go to sleep!
Now I understand, thxs!
Thxs!
Identify the rate, base, and amount in the following application.
    In a class of 25 students, 8 received a grade of A.  What percent of the students received A's?
Solve. 10x  1/4 = 9x + 3/8
do I start by -10x from both sides?
3x-7=2x+8
-2     -2
x-7 = 8
+7    +7
X=15
would this be expression, linear equation, or equation which is not linear? I pushing towards linear

3/x - 6=2x
