Awesome, thxs!
MArtina leaves home @ 9am, biking at a rate of 24 mi/h. Two hrs later, John leaves, driving @ the rate of 48 mi/h. At what time will John catch up with Martina?
Logically I came up with 1pm
but if I do this formula: ???
48(t-2)=24t
48t-96=24t
24t-96=0
24t=96
t=96/24=4
Awesome...for some reason I had 36 2/3 for width and 78 1/3 for lengths!
The length of a rectangular playing field is 5 ft. less than twich its width. If the perimeter of the playing field is 230 ft, find the length and width of the field.
