The Spinner

Have a play of my latest toy: The Spinner - Your Decision Maker

Let me know any bugs/suggestions/etc.

Got any "presets" that I could add?

Re: The Spinner

I like it.  I guess the power or drag fluctuates since it's
a little different each time, for randomness?
label: power fluctuates for randomness?
If it wasn't for the score keeper at the bottom, you
could allow for more than 20 partitions.
I like how all the ratios are figured when you
edit the sizes.

Re: The Spinner

Thanks John ...

Have a try of this: 10 sections (equal size) and 100 spins ... I have yet to get 0 for any section.

Re: The Spinner

I'll try that soon, but it reminds me of how the digits of pi pop up in base-10.
The zero pop-up after all the other digits, but it does come along way before 100 digits.

Re: The Spinner

Wow!  After 34 spins, the #8 finally came up after all the other numbers with 1 power and 20 drag (silly I know), but coincidentally, one
digit less than that or 33, is when the zero pops up in pi if you count the
3 in the 1's place.

Re: The Spinner

Cool. Found any other fun things to do with the Spinner, then?

Re: The Spinner

My favourite feature is how you can spin it "manually", by dragging the pointer around and letting it go at speed.

I also like how there's a jump option for speed. Also, when you choose spin, the power and drag are taken into account and so the probabilities aren't exactly uniform. This is most evident when you choose power 1 drag 20, but the effect is presumably always there a bit. Jump is a good way to get truer randomness.

Why did the vector cross the road?
It wanted to be normal.

Re: The Spinner

Thanks mathsy.

Try the "Do Next" preset ... and then do it!

Re: The Spinner

I like racing letters! I have 20 letters, set drag to 20, power to 1, select Jump, and go for 1000 spins to see who wins! Last time O won!
